"Clean-up Day
Grants"
For Ogle
County Cities, Villages and Townships
|
Spring cleaning is an ongoing process. The
Ogle County Solid Waste Management Department allocates funds to provide
grants to cities, villages and townships for local "Clean-up Days" to
enhance and beautify our communities. The grants are available for the
removal and proper disposal and/or recycling of non-hazardous waste. The
maximum amount available is $1000.00, which must be matched by the city,
village or township. Grants will be distributed on a
first-come-first-served basis to approved applicants.
In order to be considered for this grant, please
complete and return the
application
form which will be
reviewed and approved by the Ogle County Solid Waste Committee. The
application must include the estimated cost of obtaining an adequate
number of roll-off dumpsters, disposal costs at the landfill, personnel
and other expenses related to implementing this project.
If possible, arrangements should also be made for
the separation and recycling of materials collected during the project.
Recyclable materials should include scrap metal, white goods (large
appliances), plastics, paper, aluminum, and glass, depending on
available service and outlets for the materials.
The applicant must provide personnel to monitor
all solid waste material disposed of in the dumpsters throughout the day
to ensure that the material being disposed of is non-hazardous.
Payment of the grant will be made after a cost
summary and copies of receipts are submitted to this Department and
approved by the Solid Waste Committee after the project is completed.
The cost summary must contain documentation of all expenditures. The
amount of funds paid to each grantee shall not exceed $1000.00. Matching
funds or in-kind hours at the ratio of 50/50 must be provided by the
city, village or township.
